about

sarah marsh
is a Brooklyn-based writer/director who creates grounded genre stories driven by women and queer characters seeking love and validation in their quests to better understand themselves.
As a queer filmmaker who has struggled with depression, Sarah explores themes of independence and loneliness through an optimistic lens to highlight unlikely friendships and communities. Sarah’s stories feature improbable worlds grounded in realistic relationships and emotions.
After studying art history and archaeology in college and grad school, Sarah went on to work in hedge funds for ten years. She learned how to manage big personalities and navigate tricky client conversations, but still isn’t sure what EBITDA is.
Sarah has written throughout her life. In 2015, she completed the UCLA Professional Program in Writing for Television, and has been writing scripts ever since. Sarah has produced and directed three short films which have screened at festivals in New York and LA.
In her spare time, Sarah practices archery and knits. She lives with three feline freeloaders who supervise her Zoom calls.
